With the Moon glowing on a clear night, color and contrast get washed out. Here is an example of a image built fro using a Ha and a OIII Filter. By limiting the colorband to the narrow band of hot Hydrogen and hot Oxygeb gas emissions, you filter out the unwanted reflected Sunlight from the Moon.

In this case the Ha data is shown in Red, Ha and OIII data are used to synthesis the Green and OIII is shon as Blue.

Steve Cannistra's 2-color process is used to color the Ha and OIII Starfields to RGB coloring.
